An authentic Yucatecan home reflects part of these unique customs and traditions, which are intimately linked to the local lifestyle. That's why today we'd like to tell you about some basic elements you'll find in a home in Yucatán.  ### 1. One of them is for hot water, one for cold water, and the third one, to control the overall water flow. That way, once you find the right temperature for your shower, you don't have to worry about finding it again, since you can open and close the third faucet, and the temperature remains the same.    ### 2. Because of this, a Yucatecan home staple is, without a doubt, having at least one pair of hammock fixtures or hamaqueros, special objects that serve as a support that can bear the full weight of a hammock supported by two hooks, one on each side, which in turn are supported by a base that is attached to the wall. Usually, during the construction of a home in Yucatán, the spots on the walls where hamaqueros will be placed are planned in advance, so hammocks can be properly installed.    ### 3. High ceilings allow for a better ventilation of the rooms, since it allows for hot air to accumulate at the top, while fresh air circulates at ground level.
