For the first time in its history, Yucatan has earned a place in the Michelin Guide Mexico. The 2026 edition honored several restaurants across the state with Michelin Stars, Bib Gourmand awards, and recommendations that celebrate the excellence, creativity, and authenticity of their gastronomic offer.

Restaurants Awarded a Michelin Star

In this edition, three restaurants in Yucatan were awarded a Michelin Star. Two are in Merida, while the third is in Chochola, approximately one hour from the state capital.

• Huniik: Led by chef Roberto Solis, Huniik offers an intimate dining experience that reinterprets Yucatán’s culinary heritage through a contemporary lens, with a strong focus on local ingredients.
• La barra de Huniik: Huniik's sister concept that transforms the gastronomic experience into an omakase format, where corn and the region's emblematic ingredients play a central role.
• Ixi’im: Located within Chable Yucatan resort and led by Executive Chef Luis Ronzon, it stands out for its ancient Mayan flavors, ingredients, and techniques, such as pib, a traditional method of cooking in an underground oven.

Bib Gourmand Awards and Culinary Recommendations

The Michelin Guide also distinguished three restaurants in Yucatan with the Bib Gourmand category, which highlights an outstanding quality-price ratio. In this edition, Taqueria Kisin and Pancho Maiz, both in Merida, as well as Pueblo Pibil in the municipality of Tixkokob, were selected.

In addition, the guide included six restaurants in Merida as part of its selection of recommended establishments, including Micaela Mar & Leña, Mimado, and Nectar.
