The tourism industry in the Mexican Caribbean is growing. During the last vacation (from December 21st to January 7th 2020), the economic benefit from tourism and tourism itself grew 5% compared to the same lapse in 2018. According to The State of Quintana Roo’s Bureau of Tourism, 1 417 298 tourists came to the Mexican Caribbean during the last vacation.

The average occupancy was 82.6%. However, the Mayan Riviera was the leader, since Playa del Carmen’s occupancy reached 88.7%, and Tulum’s was up to 89.4%. Economic benefits in the Mayan Riviera reached 681 300 000 USD. Tulum’s role was astounding since 13.7% more visitors came.

Current occupancy and tourism growth show us that investing in real estate in the Mayan Riviera in order to take advantage of the vacation rental’s business is a smart decision that will turn into a great ROI. That’s the case with many luxury apartment developments in Playa del Carmen and Tulum, which attract tourists who prefer vacation apartment’s privacy and comfort, instead of chain hotel’s standardized experiences.

Now you know it, if you are willing to invest in real estate, and are looking for a safe market to ensure a successful investment, make up your mind and come to the Mayan Riviera.
